Author: Deepak Kademani
The intention of Tiwana and Kademani in the drafting and edition of this Atlas, is to define, capture the oral perspective of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Although education, training, and the scope of practice with specialty vary widely from one country to another, the future direction of oral and maxillofacial surgery must be clear.

The Atlas is divided into eleven (XI) parts with specific surgical procedures. Divide it makes sense, since it is based on the surgical considerations of diseases and anatomy. The surgical procedures detailed in the Atlas are relevant and, as a group are complete for the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
An atlas of this depth and breadth requires the collaboration of many authors around the world. By definition, an atlas should also have consistently accurate high quality illustrations. This work reaches all these objectives and provides a tribute to the joint efforts of each and every author, the illustrator, the editors, and the publisher.
Through the Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Paul and Deepak have made a significant contribution to the specialty and more important, to the care of children and adults with craniofacial and maxillofacial deformities of all kinds.
