Author: Alberto Alvarenga de Oliveira

The purpose of this book is to try to cover, as broadly as possible, the main doubts and questions of the clinicians in the field of ceramic aesthetic restorations. Colleagues were, without a doubt, my greatest inspiration and driving force for the realization of this work.

Ceramic aesthetic restorations are the most fascinating restorative modalities of dentistry, as they associate the excellence of the material itself, the beauty of the aesthetics and the concept of the preservation of the dental structure. Working with current ceramic materials, dissociated from metal alloys, is, without a doubt, a privilege that they have, at present, dentists in their daily practice. Therefore, the main objective of this book is to provide dentists and students with a clear and objective vision of clinical procedures for the elaboration of these restorations, with an approach that shows step by step each phase of treatment, which routinely do in Our private clinic and in our courses.

However, to achieve this purpose, it is necessary to initially know the current ceramic materials, which are described in Section 1 of the Book. Below is the study of the behavior of these materials when they are inserted into the oral cavity, which is explored in section 2. And so, with a more complete vision of the ceramic material, the clinician will be suitable for studying the clinical steps necessary for the realization of the Ceramic aesthetic restorations, which are described in detail in Section 3.
